If your life has seemed out of balance, you are finding it hard to cope with stress, you can’t stop worrying, you are frequently sad or depressed, or you are dissatisfied with relationships or the direction your life is going then perhaps psychotherapy can help.
Improving individual’s lives through the use of an integrated approach to psychotherapy is the overall goal in my psychotherapy practice. I incorporate a holistic approach to address emotional, physical, and social aspects of well-being. I am dedicated to a collaborative approach to goal-setting, making sure that your priorities are emphasized in the treatment plan. A variety of evidence-based and time tested techniques are utilized for reducing distress, changing unhealthy interpersonal and behavior patterns, increasing life satisfaction, and improving overall health and well-being. Finding balance and identifying your strengths and natural healing ability are important pieces of the therapeutic process.
I specialize in working with adults and older adolescents (age 16 and older), as well as couples. The issues I am frequently helping clients overcome include: anxiety, depression, mild trauma, anger, grief and loss issues, relationship difficulties, compulsive behaviors, substance abuse/codependency issues, and managing life transitions.
Our work will begin with an initial assessment period followed by time to consider and discuss your goals. My role is to provide a supportive and encouraging environment, a safe place to reflect on your life and the reasons behind your feelings and actions. I may challenge you at times and help you explore new ideas that will bring about the healing and change you are looking for.
For therapy to be effective, the experience needs to fit each individual in a unique way. One of my strengths is being sensitive to each individual client’s personality and needs. I have a calm, rational, nonjudgmental, and caring approach and can quickly demonstrate understanding and offer insight. Clients working with me report they feel understood, discover ways to nurture their own healing resources, and gain insights that help bring about positive change, healing, and greater life satisfaction.
My office is conveniently located near Hwy 100 and W. 50th St. in Edina.
